What is an Initial Assesment
Our initial dog training assessment begins with a thorough review of the dog’s medical history, past training experiences, and living environment. We then conduct a detailed behavioural assessment, observing the dog’s interactions and identifying any issues such as aggression, anxiety, or obedience problems. We discuss the owner’s training goals and tailor a customised training plan to address the dog’s specific needs, setting realistic expectations and timelines. The session concludes with a summary of findings, training recommendations, and a Questions to ensure the owner is well-informed and supported throughout the training process.
How Long is an Initial Assesment
The Assessment lasts approx. 1 hour
What is the purpose of an Initial Assesment
The initial assessment allows our trainers to evaluate your dog’s current behaviour, temperament, and specific training needs. It helps us create a personalised training plan that is tailored to your dog’s unique requirements and goals.
What shall I bring with me?
Please bring your dog on a standard leash, collars or harnesses and any relevant medical records. It’s also helpful to bring a list of any behavioural issues you want to address.
What happens after the Initial Assesmnet?
After the assessment, the trainer will provide feedback on your dog’s behaviour and recommend a customised training plan. This plan will outline the goals, methods, and timeline for your dog’s training. We’ll also discuss the next steps, including scheduling your first training session.
Can you help human aggressive dogs

Does Ruskies Dog Training have qualifications?
Yes, Laura takes her academic and practical training very serious. She has completed many courses including a Level 5 in Dog Training and Behaviour. Laura is also currently working towards being a clinical behaviourist.

What areas do you cover?
Ruskies Dog Training offers group classes in the Beverley, Ellerker and Brough areas. One-to-one sessions are available in South Cave and surrounding areas, with travel options available upon request.
